adoration

adoration
In its ordinary sense, this word (from the Latin adorare, meaning "to speak formally" or "to beseech") refers to any expression of great love and high esteem. In its religious sense, adoration is the worship due to God alone; thus, adoration is to praise God as creator and savior and to humble oneself. (See CCC 2096-2097)
